Celebrating Summer Solstice: a mindful outdoor mini-retreat

On the precipice of the longest, brightest day of the year, we step mindfully into the forest with facilitator Andrea Evans to enjoy a uniquely meditative and deeply nourishing experience under nature's canopy.  The word "solstice" originates from the Latin words sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still); the Sun's path across the sky appears to stop and hover briefly at its highest peak before reversing direction.  Allow yourself this moment to pause, to ‘stand still,’ to breathe and to soak in the bounty of the season.

No two nature immersion retreats are exactly the same. The experience is shaped by the energy of the group, the elements, the friends and beings we meet on our journey and the season. As we celebrate the summer solstice, allow yourself to rediscover awe, connection, and a total nervous system reset through a guided forest exploration; you will be invited to awaken your senses and drop into the magic and intuitive wonder that exists all around us.

WHAT TO EXPECT and how to prepare: to be clear, this is not a vigorous hiking activity; we will be moving at a slow, deliberate pace on accessible trails located in Attleboro.  All are welcome. Dress appropriately for the outdoors! (Hat, layers, comfortable shoes, etc.) Meet-up details will be shared with registered participants for this event.

About your guide: When creating outdoor forest immersion retreats, Andrea Evans (E-YRT 500, certified Mindful Outdoor Experience Guide) draws inspiration from Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing), the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership, and decades of personal practice and exploration in the more-than-human world.

Andrea began her teaching journey in 2014 with 200 hours of training with Jacqui Bonwell and later added 300 hours of training with David Vendetti. Her diverse classes, workshops, and retreats are designed for self-discovery and exploration. Her teaching intention is to hold safe space for people to practice, free of expectation or judgement. Andrea has studied an array of modalities from Vinyasa to Meditation to Yoga Nidra, Reiki, functional movement, Five Element Yoga® and Yoga for Trauma, Emotional Health and Healing. When she is not on her mat, she can often be found meandering through the town forest.
